Friday has arrived, and with it a slew of page updates at the Digital SLR Guide. I'll summarize each one of the changes here - click the links to follow through for more information.
Canon vs Nikon
No, this is not yet another page on the "great debate" about which one is better. I leave that decision up to you. Instead, it's a high-level overview of the competing digital SLR cameras between these two camera companies.
Past history is included (so you can get some perspective) and current model cameras are briefly compared so you can see what's available today.
The Best Canon Digital SLR
This page needed some serious attention and it's finally gotten it. The page talks in more detail about the current best CONSUMER-level Canon digital SLR you can buy - the Canon 40D.
Digital SLR Camera Prices
I update this page on a monthly basis to keep the prices current, but I realized during my last update that a new category of cameras had emerged: the "budget" SLRs that cost less than $600.
Since that's the case, I subdivided the page to include four pricing levels: less than $600, $600 to $1,000, $1,000 to $2,000 and $2,000 or more. These new sections will help you quickly zero in on the right camera if price is a deciding factor (which is certainly the case for most new digital SLR buyers).
More comparative analysis coming soon - after all, the holiday buying season is right around the corner (believe it or not) so the new pages will be designed to help you make a final decision about which camera to buy for a loved one or for yourself.
